Who is hot and who is not? Every team's recent results, points per game and goals, ranked within its league, with its next match.
Teams ranked by points per game over their last 5 matches by default; switch to 10 or 20, or to home or away form.
Per-match averages over each team's last 5 matches in all competitions (needs at least 3). Colours show the league ranking for that column: green near the top of the league, red near the bottom (for goals conceded, shots faced and blanks, fewer is better). A team's league is the competition it played most recently and most often. Updated 21 Oct, 20:12.
A form guide ranks teams by their results over the most recent matches — typically the last five. Unlike the league table, which reflects the whole season, it shows who is performing well right now. A mid-table team on a five-match winning run is arguably in better shape than a side in second that has drawn its last four.
Each team shows its W-D-L record and last-five results, and every number is coloured by where it ranks in the team's league: green near the top, red near the bottom. Use Hottest and Coldest to jump to the extremes, and the Home / Away switch when one side of a fixture is much stronger on its own ground.
Form is one of the stronger short-term guides to results. Teams in good form tend to carry momentum — confidence is high, the line-up is settled and the tactics are working. Teams on losing runs often suffer from low morale, rotation and pressure on the manager.
Beware of recency bias, though. Five straight wins against bottom-half sides look great here but may come just before a run of top-six fixtures — the Next column shows who each team plays next. Combine form with the underlying numbers in the team stats explorer — shots, shots on target and big chances — and with the fixture list on matches.
Form is not only about results. A team scoring in every one of its last five is a strong BTTS candidate, and one with four clean sheets in five is one for unders. Check the goal screener and the clean sheet screener for fixture-level lines, then use form to see whether the recent trend confirms the longer one.
